This course is suitable for anyone responsible for direct command and control of emergency response on site. This course is appropriate for sites regulated by Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulation 2015 (COMAH) and competencies are directly derived from this law, including Emergency Planning for Major Accidents (HSG191).
The skills and knowledge taught in the Site Incident Controllers (SIC) course are applicable to any scenario that involve risk and require prompt, effective response. Many of our customers are not CoMAH operators.

In the first part of this course, candidates develop their knowledge of the principles and practice of emergency response. In the second part, candidates consolidate skill and experience through learning in a coached simulation, in preparation for a practical assessment. Candidates are assessed against competencies for the SIC role, as defined in COMAH regulations and guidance. Candidates pass or fail this assessment and a report is provided, containing quantitative and qualitative feedback.
